Kat Scrappiness February First Project

This first project is a altered chipboard box. I made this for my best friend Amber for her birthday. I wanted to make her something she can keep her memories in from some trips we have taken. So I started with a bunch of ideas, I decided to stick with her favorite colors and a owl theme.
I used Urban paper pad from K and Company. It worked out great because the paper was green and had a owl on it.  So I pasted it down with golden regular gel and sealed it. I then painted the inside  with blue acrylic paint. After the paint dried I then worked on the cover. I placed a flower arrangement after I Lindy stamped gang them with blue sparkles.  I then used cool green jewel buttons.

I then punched out a letter "A" for amber, I then used black enamel ascent to give it some texture. As you can see the owl looks like its hiding behind the flower like a hide out. The best is still to come I was looking at my box and thought its great but its messing something... Then I thought camera! So I took a Kat Scrappiness chipboard camera (Kat's Camera) and covered it with the designer paper. I then inked the edges with vintage photo and added white enamel ascents to it. I love the way it came out, I personally love the versatility of chipboard camera it allows you to alter it to fit any project needs. The altered box ended up really nice and Amber was really happy with it. I think just the little camera was perfect to complete this project.

I also received other gorgeous Kat Scrappiness goodies. Be Sure to check out the new store. We no longer at etsy we are on our own server at : www.katscrappiness.com .

Well I'm off be sure to come back and see me and my new projects real soon. I'm working on a mini you don't wanna miss. <3 Rachel

Kat Scrappiness Design Team January Projects

Hey everyone!
I'm back with two projects for Kat Scrappiness. I made one card with Kat's cupcake Click here. I used American craft card stock and a Websters page's paper. I added some bling and centered the Cupcake. I added white puffy paint to give it some flair. I think it turned out nice, I could put any sentiment inside because the cupcake is so vestal for any occasion.

My next project is a altered canvas board. I wanted to make a valentine card like the kind we would get in elementary school. I ran with that idea with my altered canvas. I used a picture of my fiance  and I. I then used Kat's 3d rolled flowers in pink Click Here. After I added the flowers I wanted to add pearls. I wanted the "valentine" to look like pearls just fell on the canvas. I then added a few other minor details. Ultimately the Kat scrappiness 3d flowers is what ties the piece together.

Kat Scrappiness Design Team First Project

Hey everyone! I have some great news! I have been chosen to be apart of Kat Scrappiness deign team!!! She makes wonderful handmade felt and chipboard embellishments. The following projects are for the month of December. I crated a card and a altered canvas board. I made a card and decided to use Kat's scrappiness snow man. His red scarf was the inspiration for the card, a truly vibrant red theme was my goal.  As you can see the snow man is really whimsical and fun. I love Christmas embellishments that really capture the fun Christmas spirit. I think this snow man does that with his fun red scarf and silly eyes.

My next project is a altered canvas board. I chose a picture of my puppy/baby Miley and I wanted the project to be fun and sweet like her. So from Kat scrappiness the little felt  reindeer was perfect. I added a small bow and bell to the reindeer. It's super cute and a really nice size. I also used Kat Scrappiness small snowflakes.  I added blue and other small color rhinestones to the snowflakes to give some color to the piece to contrast the white background paper. The snowflakes makes the  canvas soft and unique. Kat Scrappiness embellishments are very vestal and creatively inspiring. I hope you liked my projects if you want to see  more check out my

I love You ....Yes You !

Ive been feeling down. So I thought someone out there may need a lift up too, So I love you and Create something beautiful because you are beautiful- Rachel a.k.a Bunny

So This Is my new tool. It is the crop a dile. I picked this up for 15.99 at Joann. I needed a hole punch that would punch though cardboard and chipboard which this does. It is also a eyelet setter as well which is a added bonus. So this was my big buy. I haven't been shopping in awhile I had tons of events to attend and July has just been a really crazy month.

This month I had a graduation card. I made for a close friend (Amber) if you read my blog she's my best friend. She was graduating from college and I wanted to make her something. She is a giant fan of my work. So I decided to make here a card. I don't make cards so this was my first attempt at a card. I think it came out really nice for the first try at card making. So what I did was emboss the card stock with my cuttlebug embossing folder, I then layered it with paper I distressed resist with Tim holtz distress ink. I then handmade the Rosette folded flower. I then used spellbinders lace die and cut that out then added stickles. I then placed swirl bling and embossed congrats. I went for a fresh spring look for new beginnings and added the owls because she loves owls. So all in all I think the card came out well and she loved it so that was a added plus.

So my next projects are for minialbumscraps.ning.com. I am in two swaps they are hosting. The first one is twilight saga NEW MOON.  I have participated in the first twilight swap which was of the first movie. I had tons of fun with that one. I also was the winner of the prize give away. I haven't yet received it so I don't know what I will be getting but its nice to win anything.  So the new moon tag swap is choose your favorite scene or quote. I choose to do Jacob.  I choose the quote "its a wolf thing, no its a Jacob thing. You could be your like your own sun.

I like that quote because I love how sweet it is. So I ran with that theme using warm colors and making the tag feel more rustic. I used tons of browns and  yellows and golds. I used brown paper from me and my big idea's. I then distessed it with vintage photo and punched out gold circles from gold cardboard. I also used modeling paste and mixed it with black acrylic paint and used a stencil to make some texture on my tag.  I then made a stick pin inspired by native American art using beads and turquoise . I then used brown and gold stones on the side and the glitter around them. I also used straw ribbon as the finishing touch and a feather hanging off of it.

So my next tag swap I am in at minialbumscraps.ning.com the theme is magical mythical. So I choose to do a mermaid. Something about a mermaid screams magic and mythical to me. So I choose a picture from the internet of a mermaid and as you can see the fishes are pink so I ran with that color scheme. I used me and my big ideas paper in pink and foiled blue dots. I placed the photo to the side and worked around it. I placed a big pink flower and two small blue flowers as well.

Then I used a prima dew drop and lined it with string pearls. I then used white lace that I dyed with blue smooch spray. I used hot glue and sprinkled beads to make it look like treasure under the sea.I also placed a shell that I custom dyed with warm honey distress ink and California golden poppy stain, to give it a little sparkle.

I also used jewels on the side in pink and light blue( as you can see I used a lot of pink and blue.) I put at the top "Beauty in the sea". The seam binding was dyed in distress stain "worn jeans". I topped it all of with blue and white tool.

So this has what Ive been up to. Please let me know what you think. If you haven't yet checked out minialbumscraps.ning.com It's tons of fun and there is something for everyone. Also check out my YouTube channel at Bunny12351 . Thanks again for stopping by. Remember      CRATE SOMETHING AMAZING!! I KNOW YOU CAN!

My Weekend of Mystery

MY WEEKEND
So I never make plans. I don't believe in them. I like to take things as they come, makes life a surprise. That is kind how the weekend was for me really just a series of random events. So Friday I went shopping. I went to Big lots and found some great stamps. From Hampton Arts and inkadinkadoo. They are all Acrylic And clear. I paid $2.00 each and I got three packs. I also got some really
nice stickers from "me and my big ideas". All in all I got some cool things from big lots. I also that day went to my local thrift stores and found 3D paint that was only $.99 which is awesome! I found that day as well was a paper trimmer from FISKERS. Which was a great find and was cheap I paid 1.99 for it and it is perfect. So that was my Friday day at night I watched a movie and passed out from all that shopping! So Saturday I got up early and decided to go to my local flea market. The sun was up and even though I went early before noon it still was really hot.

I went there looking for some flowers for a friend. I found them and on my search. I found some dollies and golden ribbon for like .50 cents. At another stand I found some pink lace and some tea pot stamps, for $1.50. I also found some crystal leaves in brown and clear. I love finding stuff at the flea market its always a miss or hit. Sometimes I found great things and sometimes I find nothing. Its actually really fun. I like the shuffle and hustle of it all. The funny people and the sweet smell of popcorn and corn dogs. As I left I got a lemonade and went on home to the nice air conditioner. Later that day on Saturday I went out once again with my fantastic mother. We went to Goodwill and I found Neocolor 11 In the box and almost new for $3.99 for 30 watercolors. I don't know if you know but those crayon water colors are extremely expensive so that was a steal! I also found a bunch of random stuff from lace to paper. I love all of it...

So  Sunday was such a nice day. My best friend Amber Invited me and Chris my fiancee to a little BBQ. At a friend house she was house sitting for. I didn't know what to expect of the place I never been before and was pleasantly surprised, this house was so gorgeous. Each room was so different and pretty like they put so much love into the home. I like how every house has a different vibe when you visit and this one was defiantly a good loving home. The couple that live there are friends of ours and I've only met them a handful of times I would have never guesses they had such a sweet place.
Anyways I loved their dogs too,Hugo, Henry, And Diesel. Silly animals, They are super silly for big dogs. I personally loved Henry I decided to call him prince Henry for the rest of the night.
Henry Is the Blonde, I took this picture just when the sun hit his face.
So we set some music outside to enjoy there nice June weather. It was a mix cd that was pretty good actually. It kinda set the mood for a relaxing night.
We cooked hot dogs and chips. Diesel the funny dog that he is stole a hotdog right off the plate. I couldn't believe how high he jumped to reach the hot dog. I had tons of fun in the sun. Our weather is crazy right now some days are sunny and some are raining like today it's raining really bad outside actually. Anyways back to my Sunday.. We ate  and joked and just plain old fun chitchat. We talked about what we want for our futures and our goals. As Chris and I know that we want to be married the rest is in the air. Even though I was having fun I kept telling myself  to not get a head of yourself take your time and live this moment and not plan the rest. I guess that's what I really took from our talks that night. I wish I could have just paused that day just to keep having that wonderful sunshine feeling of not knowing where I'm going. I like it actually.
It's just the little chaos that's okay for me. It keeps me motivated to keep searching for life's never ending mystery. I think that's why I'm drawn to art because it has a way of making it's way into everyday life. I like that art and beauty are the same thing.I feel like all I'm going though with all the seriousness of my life, art seems to be the answer. It can show me that things will get easier and all thing change, just like colors when they mix. Sometimes the colors are  messy and sometimes its perfect Just like everyday life.  As the night went on we made a fire. The out side got lite up by tinkle lights and the fire. I love the smell of wood burning. I was so comfortable outside at night I like to look at the stars even though in the city like mine its kinda hard to see. I don't mind to much though. Something about the night is is just so mysterious almost dangerous but I like the not knowing of what could happen when the sun goes down As I'm a night person, just always have been ever since I was a kid. We continue our talks and we roasted marshmallows. It was so nice that we said it was like camping. So Sunday we called  it our one night camping trip in the city's infinite  night. So there you have my mystery weekend. What can I say I live pretty random. :o)
